About Remove PDF Pages

Deleting a page is one of the simplest PDF edits and one of the hardest to do without a subscription. A split tool can isolate pages, but then you still have to rejoin the parts, and screenshot-based editors destroy the document. People usually want one small job: remove the blank scan, drop the cover page, or take out a page that should not be shared.

This tool shows every page as a numbered tile. Click the pages you want to remove, check the live remaining count, then download a new PDF with the rest copied in order. Pages are copied rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and image quality is unchanged. The original file is never modified and the document never leaves your browser.

What this tool does

The details that matter when you use Remove PDF Pages for real work.
  • Click-to-select page grid

Every page is a numbered button with a clear selected state, so choosing pages on a laptop trackpad or a phone is quick.

  • Live remaining count

The workspace tells you how many pages will be removed and exactly how many remain before you generate the file.

  • Cannot delete every page

If the selection would empty the document, the tool blocks the action and explains why a PDF needs at least one page.

  • No re-rendering

The remaining pages are copied into a new document, so text stays selectable and images keep their original data.

  • Works on any kind of page

Text pages, scans, drawings and mixed layouts are all removed as whole pages without needing OCR or rendering.

  • Original left untouched

The file you added is only read; the download is a separate new PDF and the original stays on your device as it was.

How to use Remove PDF Pages

No account, no installation — the whole job happens in this browser tab.
  1. 01

    Add the PDF

Drop the file into the workspace. Its page count is read locally and the page grid appears.

  2. 02

    Select pages to remove

Click the numbered tiles for every page you want gone. Click a selected tile again to keep that page. Use Select all only with care.

  3. 03

    Check the count

Read the summary line: it shows how many pages will be removed and how many will remain in the new file.

  4. 04

    Remove the pages

Click Remove selected pages. The remaining pages are copied into a new PDF in their original order.

  5. 05

    Download and verify

Download the new PDF and open the preview or your PDF viewer to confirm the page count and content.

Limitations worth knowing

  • Up to 200 pages and 100 MB per PDF, because the page grid is built for interactive selection.
  • Only whole pages can be removed; there is no remove-by-content search or blank-page detection.
  • Bookmarks, comments, form fields and digital signatures are not preserved in the new file.
  • Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before pages can be removed.

Privacy and file handling

The PDF is opened and rebuilt in your browser with pdf-lib. It is never uploaded to a server, and the new document is created on your device. Nothing is stored, and the original file is only read, never modified.

Remove PDF Pages FAQ

Short, direct answers to the questions people ask before using this tool.
How do I delete several pages at once?
Click each page tile you want to remove — every click toggles that page. The selected tiles stay highlighted, and the summary updates as you go. Select all followed by deselecting the pages you want to keep is the fastest way to clear most of a document.
Can I remove the first or last page of a PDF?
Yes. The page grid includes every page, including the first and the last. Click the tile and remove it like any other page.
Does removing pages change my original file?
No. The tool only reads the file you added and creates a new PDF in your browser. The original document on your device is unchanged, so you can start over or re-download the original at any time.
Why can't I remove every page?
A PDF must contain at least one page to be a valid document. The tool blocks a selection that would leave zero pages and asks you to keep at least one.
Are the remaining pages renumbered after removal?
Yes. The new PDF contains only the pages you kept, numbered 1 to the new page count in their original relative order. Internal references to deleted pages, such as bookmarks, are not updated.
Do bookmarks and form fields survive page removal?
Page content survives, but document-level extras such as bookmarks, comments, form fields and digital signatures are not copied into the new file. If those matter, keep the original alongside the trimmed copy.
Can I remove pages from a scanned PDF?
Yes. Removing a page does not depend on the page containing text. A scanned page is removed as a whole page exactly like a text page, with no OCR needed.
Is there an undo after I download the trimmed PDF?
No — the download is a new file without the removed pages. The original file is still on your device, so you can add it again and choose a different selection.
