About
A workbench, not a file upload farm.
FormatFlow is a free online toolbox for the small, annoying file jobs that interrupt real work: a PDF that refuses to split, a HEIC photo a job application will not accept, a WAV file too large to email. The site offers 30 focused tools across PDF, image, video, audio, text and developer utilities.
What makes this different
Most of the tools run entirely in your browser. Where that is possible, it is what we do: every PDF, image, text and developer tool processes the file on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, so an invoice or an ID scan never leaves your laptop. The video and audio tools need FFmpeg and therefore a server; those files go into a temporary directory that is deleted as soon as the download finishes.
We also publish the limits. If a tool cannot handle a file, if the conversion is text-only, or if a quality setting is lossy, the page says so before you start rather than after a five-minute upload.
How the pages are built
Every tool page combines a working application with an explanation of what it does, how to use it, which formats it supports, what its limitations are, and what happens to your file. The pages are reviewed against the tool itself: supported formats, limits and privacy claims are checked against the implementation, not generated independently.
The site is supported by advertising. Ads are labeled, kept away from the convert and download buttons, and never placed inside a conversion result. The tool is the product; advertising is how it stays free.
How we handle files
Browser-based tools transfer nothing to us. Server-based media jobs write the upload and the result to a temporary working directory, stream the result to you, and delete the directory immediately afterwards. No account, no file library, no retention. Read the privacy policy for the details.
Corrections and contact
If a tool does something different from what its page claims, we want to know. Write to hello@formatflow.online with the tool name and what happened. Corrections are reviewed with priority over new features.
