Privacy policy

The short version

  • You do not need an account, and we do not ask for an email address.
  • Browser tools process files on your device. The file is never sent to FormatFlow.
  • Video and audio tools upload the file to a temporary server directory that is deleted when processing finishes.
  • We do not sell or share personal data.
  • If advertising or analytics is enabled, it is disclosed here and uses the providers named below.

Files

For PDF, image, text and developer tools, all processing happens in your browser using JavaScript and browser APIs. The file is not transmitted over the network and no copy is stored by us or by a third party. If you close the tab, the file is gone.

For video and audio tools, the file you select is uploaded to our server so that FFmpeg can process it. The upload and the converted result are written to a per-request temporary directory, the result is streamed back to your browser, and the directory is deleted immediately after the request completes or fails. We do not maintain a file library, do not create shareable links, and do not back up temporary files.

Server logs

Like most web servers, our hosting infrastructure records basic technical information for security and operations: IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent and response status. These logs are used to detect abuse and keep the service running, and are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard log retention requires. We do not combine them with file contents, because we do not keep file contents.

Cookies and local storage

The core tools do not require cookies and work without them. If you have enabled an analytics or advertising integration on your deployment of this site, those third parties may set cookies or read identifiers as described by their own policies. Advertising is only loaded when publisher IDs are configured, and ad slots are labeled as advertising. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without affecting any tool.

This site stores no tool input, settings or history in local storage in the current version.

Third-party services

When enabled by the operator, this site may load Google AdSense for advertising and Google Analytics for aggregate usage measurement. Those services receive standard request information when their scripts load, and their use is governed by Google's own privacy terms. No file contents are ever passed to these services.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. There are no accounts or profiles to create.

Your rights

Because we do not create accounts or store uploaded files, there is usually no personal data record to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period. Depending on your jurisdiction you may have additional rights under the GDPR or similar laws, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change and the new policy will apply from that date. The current version always describes what the running site does.
