About Image Cropper
Cropping is the most direct way to fix a composition: remove clutter at the edge, centre a face, or turn a landscape photo into a square for a profile picture. Dedicated photo editors do this well but take time to install and learn, especially when you just need one quick crop for a form or a listing.
The cropper works directly on the image in the page. Drag inside the selection to move it, drag a corner to resize it, or pick a fixed aspect ratio for squares and video frames. Arrow keys nudge the selection for pixel-accurate placement, and the crop is written at the source resolution, so no detail is lost to upscaling.
What this tool does
Drag and resize selection
Move the crop area by dragging inside it and change its size from any of the four corners.
Aspect ratio presets
Free, 1:1, 4:3 and 16:9 presets for profile pictures, photos and video frames.
Keyboard nudging
Move the selection with the arrow keys, 10 pixels at a time with Shift held.
Touch and pen support
Pointer events mean the same crop controls work with a finger on a phone or tablet.
Full-resolution crop
The output is cut from the original pixels, not from the preview, so it stays sharp.
PNG, JPG or WebP output

Limitations worth knowing
- HEIC and camera raw formats are not decoded here; convert them to JPG first.

- JPG and low-quality WebP output add compression on top of the original image.
- Images larger than roughly 50 megapixels can exceed the memory a browser tab is allowed to use.
Privacy and file handling
The image is opened in your browser and the crop is applied locally with the Canvas API. It is never uploaded to FormatFlow or any third party, and no copy is stored. Closing the page discards the image.
