SummaryTXT to PDF is a free online pdf tools tool. You can turn a plain text .txt file into a PDF in your browser: the text is wrapped onto fixed pages locally and downloaded, with no upload. A .txt file has no fonts, margins or page breaks: it is just characters, line breaks and white space. Turning it into a PDF means deciding how wide the page is, which font to set it in and where to break lines, and those choices are made by the converter rather than by the file. It runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. It accepts TXT and produces PDF. The maximum size is up to 25 mb. Plain text carries no formatting, so fonts, sizes, colours and alignment cannot be preserved. Line wrapping follows the page width and body font, so the PDF's lines and page breaks will not match the source file.

About TXT to PDF

A .txt file has no fonts, margins or page breaks: it is just characters, line breaks and white space. Turning it into a PDF means deciding how wide the page is, which font to set it in and where to break lines, and those choices are made by the converter rather than by the file.

This converter reads the .txt in your browser tab and lays the text out into fixed PDF pages using the page size and margins built into the tool. Because the source has no layout, the result is a clean reading document rather than a copy of an original design, and the file never leaves your device.

What this tool does

The details that matter when you use TXT to PDF for real work.
  • Conversion without an upload

The text is read and paginated in the tab by JavaScript, so the file never leaves your device.

  • Clean paginated output

Long text is wrapped and split into pages automatically, with consistent margins and a readable body font.

  • Plain text in, PDF out

No formatting is required in the source: paragraphs separated by blank lines become readable sections in the PDF.

  • Up to 25 MB per file

Each .txt file can be up to 25 MB, enough for books, logs and long transcripts.

  • Any device with a browser

The converter needs only a modern browser: no account, installation or office suite.

  • Works offline after load

Once the page has loaded, the conversion needs no network connection.

Limitations worth knowing

  • Plain text carries no formatting, so fonts, sizes, colours and alignment cannot be preserved.
  • Line wrapping follows the page width and body font, so the PDF's lines and page breaks will not match the source file.
  • Tab-separated data is not aligned into columns because proportional fonts render tabs as spacing, not fixed-width stops.
  • Files up to 25 MB convert in a browser tab, and very large text files depend on the device's memory.

Privacy and file handling

Your text file is read, paginated and downloaded entirely inside this browser tab. It is never uploaded to FormatFlow or any other server, no copy is stored or logged, and the conversion works offline once the page has loaded. Closing or refreshing the page discards the text and the result.

TXT to PDF FAQ

Short, direct answers to the questions people ask before using this tool.
Will the PDF keep my line breaks?
Paragraph breaks and single line breaks are kept as written, but the converter wraps long lines to the page width. If the original has hard breaks inside paragraphs, those breaks remain and can look uneven — reflow the text before converting if that matters.
What font and page size does the PDF use?
The converter uses a standard body font and a fixed page setup built into the tool, so the output is tidy and consistent rather than matching a specific editor. Fonts, sizes and margins are not configurable.
Can I control where pages break?
No. Pagination follows the page size, margins and font, so page breaks land where the reflowed text reaches the bottom of a page. Insert blank lines or split the source file if you need a particular break point.
Is my text file uploaded?
No. The .txt is read and paginated inside your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server, stored or logged. Closing the page discards the text and the result.
How large a text file can I convert?
Up to 25 MB per file. Plain text is compact, so that allows millions of characters, but very large files take longer to lay out in the tab.
Does the PDF keep tabs and columns?
Tabs and multiple spaces are kept as characters, but they are not aligned into columns: the text is set in a proportional font, so tab-separated data can look ragged. Use a spreadsheet tool for true tabular layout.
Why does my text look different from the editor?
Plain text has no formatting information, so the PDF applies its own font and wrapping. That is expected: the words are unchanged, but line lengths and page breaks are decided by the converter.
Will long lines wrap in the PDF?
Yes. Plain text has no line-length rules, so the PDF applies its own wrapping to the page width. The words are unchanged, but the line breaks and page breaks are decided by the converter and may differ from the original text editor.
